Daniel Rycharski

born 1986 in Sierpc, Polska,
lives and works in Kurówko, Poland.

Daniel Rycharski is an author of films, multimedia installations and site-specific objects. He creates public projects in rural space that involve the local community.

In 2009, the artist decided to go back to his home village of Kurówko. Inspired by tales of the fantastical creatures inhabiting in the nearby forests, he created a mural on one of the houses that showed a hybrid animal. To be the proud owners of a similar mural soon became a point of pride for local households. Kurówko is probably the only village in Poland in which the chair of the village council is also an art curator.
