Borowski & Śliwiński

live and work in Warsaw, Poland.

In the past, Paweł Śliwiński and Tymek Borowski pursued surrealism in painting referred to as the art of those tired of reality

The monument of the artist Julian Raczko was made to a commission from a collector. Borowski and Śliwiński had been asked to design and make a display case for keeping paints, which Raczko handed over to the collector as a supplement to the purchased paintings. Such was the origin of the work that it is, as Borowski puts it, a homage to an idealist painter. Specific parts of the monument relate metaphorically to the most important events from Raczko’s life and the main aspects of his art.
